Terms of Service

Resume AI Terms of Use

Effective date: November 24, 2025

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Resume AI desktop application, related services, documentation, and content (collectively, the “Service”). By installing or using Resume AI, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old and capable of forming a binding contract to use the Service. By using Resume AI, you represent that you meet these requirements.

2. License & Restrictions

  • We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the Service solely for creating and managing resumes.
  • You may not reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app except as permitted by law.
  • You may not use the Service to infringe intellectual property rights, harvest personal data, or transmit malware.
  • You remain responsible for the accuracy and legality of the resume content you upload or generate.

3. User Content

  • You retain ownership of the resumes, attachments, job descriptions, and other materials you provide (“User Content”).
  • By sharing User Content through the Service, you grant Resume AI a limited license to process, analyze, and format that content solely to deliver the features you request (e.g., editing, tailoring, exporting).
  • You are responsible for ensuring that User Content does not violate applicable laws, confidentiality obligations, or third-party rights.

4. AI Features

  • The Service may include AI-generated suggestions from a large language model (LLM). Outputs may be inaccurate or incomplete, and you should review them before use.
  • AI features should not be relied upon for legal, medical, or other professional advice.
  • You agree not to submit harmful, infringing, or discriminatory prompts to the AI features.

5. Updates & Availability

  • We may update the Service automatically to improve performance, add features, or address security issues.
  • Service components (desktop app, backend, AI providers) may occasionally be unavailable due to maintenance or outages. We are not liable for delays or data loss caused by such downtime.

6. Fees

Resume AI may offer paid plans or add-ons. Fees, billing cycles, and renewal terms will be presented at checkout. Unless otherwise stated, payments are non-refundable. We may change pricing with reasonable notice for ongoing subscriptions.

7. Privacy

Your use of the Service is subject to the Resume AI Privacy Policy. Please review it to understand how we collect and use information.

8. Intellectual Property

  • Resume AI, including all software, logos, and documentation, is owned by Resume AI Engineering or its licensors.
  • These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks or other branding elements.

9. Feedback

If you provide suggestions or ideas, you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free license to use them without obligation or compensation.

10. Disclaimers

  • THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
  • WE DO NOT GUARANTEE JOB PLACEMENT, INTERVIEWS, OR OTHER EMPLOYMENT OUTCOMES.

11. Limitation of Liability

  • TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, RESUME AI IS NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA OR PROFITS, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.
  • OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID (IF ANY) FOR ACCESS TO THE SERVICE DURING THE SIX MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Resume AI and its affiliates harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising out of your use of the Service, your User Content, or your violation of these Terms.

13. Termination

  • You may stop using the Service at any time by uninstalling the app and deleting local data.
  • We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or engage in fraudulent or harmful activity.
  • Upon termination, the licenses granted to you end immediately, but sections that by their nature should survive (e.g., IP ownership, disclaimers) will remain in effect.

14. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, excluding its conflict of law rules. Any disputes will be resolved in state or federal courts located in San Francisco, California, unless local law requires otherwise.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via in-app notices or release notes. Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

By using Resume AI, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms of Use.
